Meetha daliya

          This simple, sweet and testy daliya recipe reminds me my childhood days, as its always being prepared for a change and also on special auspicious occasions like puja.
         Here i am sharing the recipe how its being prepared traditionally, in many parts of india it has been cooked in milk, here i am cooking it with water and jeggry

Cooking Time : 15-20 Minutes

Ingredients
Daliya (Cracked wheat) 1 cup
Ghee (Clarified butter) 2 tbsp.
Hot water 4 cups
Salt 1 tsp.
Organic jeggery or organic sugar 1 cup (can also use normal sugar)
Cardamom Powder of about 2 cardamoms
Dry fruits for garnish ( Cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios)

Method
1 Heat a pan, Roast Daliya with ghee over medium to low heat till it turns golden brown.
2 Add 4 cups Hot water to daliya (By adding hot water you can reduce up to half cooking time)
3 Now add 1 tsp. salt to daliya n cook till it gets soft.
4 Add 1 cup of organic jeggery or sugar and cook for another 5 minutes, It will soak all the water n will form a upama like consistency
5 now add cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits of your choice.
6 Serve hot n garnish with dry fruits.

 Daliya

 Cooked daliya after 5 minutes.

5 now add cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits of your choice.

 
 16 Serve hot and garnish with dry fruits.
